Generation Of Children Less: The progeny of the cross form the F, generation and the best F, plants are similarly paired off (out crossed) to produce an F2 generation. The plants of the F, and succeeding generations are generally allowed to self-pollinate and it may take until F15 generation for really excellent plants to arise.
For example, one generation may establish agriculture and build towns, cities, highways, and other works directly in the path of predictable floods which will inflict great loss on this or the next generation. Also, one generation may establish similar institutions in a region subject to occasional excessive droughts which can wipe out the endeavor and achievements of a lifetime.
For lack of exercise, we are bringing up a generation of children less healthy than it could be, and many of whom are likely to be at high risk in later life of serious disease and shortened life expectancy.
Children are active, but many are not active enough for a healthy lifestyle. Moreover, children may be active, but not in a way that is health promoting (Biddle and Biddle 1989).
