Only A Small Percentage: Every reservation, no matter how tentative, represents a sale. Walk-in business accounts for only a small percentage of room sales . at most lodging establishments. The percentage of no-shows (people^ who place reservations but do not check in) and cancellations is also small, and many hotels purposely overbook — i.e., sell more rooms than are actually available — in proportion to the combined no-show and cancellation percentage.
The overstay percentage is the percentage of scheduled departures who remain on in the hotel. For example, assume that 120 guests who stayed in the hotel last night are scheduled to depart today. Let us say that six of these scheduled departures decide to stay over one or more days. The overstay percentage is calculated as follows:overstay percentage in this example is 5 percent of scheduled.
In recall proceedings for state officers, the attorney general or the secretary of state or other designated official may examine the sufficiency of petitions, that is, the correctness and adequacy in terms of the required numbers of signers or the correct percentage of total registered voters. For the referendum a specified percentage of the raters at the preceding election for a given office nay be required, and for the initiative a slightly ligher percentage may govern the action; but for he recall there is generally a requirement for a lercentage that is much higher still.
