Infectious bronchitis is a respiratory disease caused by a virus, which affects all ages of susceptible birds. It is characterized by coughing, gasping, nasal discharge, weakness, and depression. In young chickens, mortality may be very high, but in adults little mortality is observed. The disease is best controlled by vaccination with modified live-virus vaccines at regular intervals.
